After years of covering PC hardware, we are finally taking things a step further. We are building our first PC for this website.
For this build, we wanted to put together a gaming-focused system with a clean white aesthetic while using a combination of current-generation hardware. The result is a system built around AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D and NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, paired with a Gigabyte X870 motherboard and several other components from our supporting brands.
Before we get into the build, we would like to thank all the brands that supported us and provided the components for this project. We really appreciate the support and are excited to finally put everything together.

Gigabyte X870 AORUS ELITE X3D ICE
We are starting with the foundation of the entire system, the Gigabyte X870 AORUS ELITE X3D ICE motherboard.
The first thing that caught our attention is the white design. Since we wanted to build a white-themed gaming PC, the motherboard fits the aesthetic particularly well.
Underneath the design is AMD’s X870 chipset and an AM5 platform that supports AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series processors.
The motherboard features four DDR5 memory slots supporting up to 256GB, with memory speeds reaching up to DDR5-8800 through overclocking.
Connectivity is also well covered. The X870 AORUS ELITE X3D ICE comes with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 5GbE LAN, multiple USB Type-A ports, and two USB4 Type-C ports.
For storage, there are four M.2 slots, including PCIe 5.0 support. The primary graphics slot also supports PCIe 5.0, giving us plenty of bandwidth for the graphics card and future upgrades.
For this build, the motherboard provides more than enough features and expansion options, while its white design helps establish the look we wanted for the entire system.
AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D
At the heart of the system is the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D.
The processor features 8 cores and 16 threads and is based on AMD’s Zen 5 architecture. It has a base clock of 4.7GHz and can boost up to 5.6GHz.
One of its biggest features is AMD’s 3D V-Cache technology, which provides 96MB of L3 cache.
The Ryzen 7 9850X3D also has a 120W default TDP. Since this is a gaming-focused build, we wanted to pair it with a capable CPU cooler to keep temperatures under control.
With its combination of Zen 5 architecture and 3D V-Cache, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D is a fitting choice for a gaming system like this.
AGI UD858 DDR5
For memory, we are using the AGI UD858 DDR5.
We chose the white version to match the motherboard and the rest of the system. The memory kit runs at 6400 MT/s and supports both AMD EXPO and Intel XMP.
The support for EXPO makes it straightforward to configure the memory for its rated performance on our AMD-based system.
DDR5-6400 also gives the Ryzen 7 9850X3D plenty of fast memory bandwidth for gaming and everyday workloads.
T-FORCE GA PRO 1TB PCIe 5.0 SSD
For storage, we are using the T-FORCE GA PRO 1TB.
This PCIe 5.0 NVMe M.2 SSD offers sequential read speeds of up to 10,000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 8,500 MB/s.
Those speeds provide plenty of performance for the operating system, applications, and games.
We are starting with 1TB of storage for this build, but the Gigabyte motherboard gives us additional M.2 slots, making it easy to expand our storage capacity in the future.
FSP CMT380
For the chassis, we are using the FSP CMT380.
One of the main reasons we selected this case is its dual-chamber design. It separates the main components from the power supply and cable-management area, giving us more space to work with when putting the system together.
The CMT380 supports ATX, Micro-ATX, and Mini-ITX motherboards. It can accommodate graphics cards up to 410mm long and CPU coolers up to 160mm tall.
The front I/O also includes USB Type-C connectivity, which is useful for modern peripherals and devices.
For cooling, the case supports up to two 360mm radiators. However, we decided to go with air cooling for this particular build.
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Gaming OC 16G
For the graphics card, we are using the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Gaming OC 16G.
The GPU comes with 16GB of GDDR7 memory and a 128-bit memory interface. It also features a factory-overclocked boost clock of 2647MHz.
The RTX 5060 Ti is based on NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture and supports technologies such as DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation.
The Gaming OC model also features Gigabyte’s WINDFORCE cooling system, Hawk fans, RGB lighting, and Dual BIOS with Performance and Silent modes.
The 16GB memory configuration gives the card plenty of VRAM for modern games, while NVIDIA’s latest features can help improve gaming performance and image quality in supported titles.
It also fits nicely into the overall white-themed build, making it both a performance component and an important part of the system’s visual design.
Gigabyte AORUS ELITE P1000W
Powering the entire system is the Gigabyte AORUS ELITE P1000W 80+ Platinum Modular PCIe 5.0 White.
As the name suggests, this is a 1000W power supply with an 80 PLUS Platinum efficiency rating.
The PSU is fully modular, allowing us to use only the cables required for our components. This also makes cable management easier, especially with the dual-chamber design of the FSP CMT380.
It also supports PCIe 5.0, providing compatibility with modern graphics cards and their latest power requirements.
The 1000W capacity gives us plenty of headroom for the current hardware while also leaving room for potential upgrades in the future.
The white finish is another nice touch for this particular build. Since we are going for an all-white aesthetic, the PSU fits the overall design rather than standing out as a separate component.
Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 Vision EVO
To cool the Ryzen 7 9850X3D, we are using the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 Vision EVO.
This is a large dual-tower air cooler equipped with seven heat pipes and two 120mm fans.
What makes the Vision EVO version particularly interesting is its built-in IPS display. It adds a more premium look to the cooler and gives us an additional way to customize the system.
The cooler is compatible with the AM5 platform, making it suitable for our Ryzen 7 9850X3D.
The large dual-tower design should also provide the cooling performance needed for a powerful gaming processor while allowing us to stick with air cooling instead of using an AIO liquid cooler.
Our First PC Build Is Complete

After installing all of the components and cleaning up the cables, our first PC build for the channel is finally complete.
The finished system combines the AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D, Gigabyte X870 AORUS ELITE X3D ICE, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 5060 Ti Gaming OC 16G, AGI UD858 DDR5, T-FORCE GA PRO 1TB, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 Vision EVO, Gigabyte AORUS ELITE P1000W, and FSP CMT380.
We are particularly happy with how the white-themed components came together. The motherboard, graphics card, memory, CPU cooler, power supply, and case all contribute to the overall look of the system.
More importantly, this gives us a solid platform for testing and creating more PC-related content moving forward.
