With the opportunity of attending the biggest tech event here at COMPUTEX 2025 in Taipei, Taiwan, I was able to have a personal look at the MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Ukiyo-e Edition. Giving it an impression of not just being your next-door laptop but a beautiful blend of tradition and cutting-edge technology. In an exciting collaboration with OKADAYA, a Japanese lacquerware maker with over 400 years of history, MSI has created a laptop that honors Japan’s rich cultural heritage while delivering powerful, modern performance. This special edition is a tribute to the timeless Ukiyo-e art style, making it the perfect fusion of history and future technology.
MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Ukiyo-e Edition

At the core of this unique laptop is a tribute to one of Japan’s most iconic works of art — The Great Wave off Kanagawa, a famous woodblock print by Katsushika Hokusai. Known for its dramatic, bold lines and portrayal of nature’s immense force, the design has been reimagined on the laptop’s surface, offering a striking visual experience. The intricate blue and white wave, with its movement and energy, captures the essence of Ukiyo-e and gives the laptop a design that’s both captivating and elegant.

Working with OKADAYA brings this collaboration to life. OKADAYA is a master of Yamanaka lacquerware, a craft that has been perfected over centuries. The artisans apply eight layers of lacquer by hand, creating a smooth, glossy finish that’s both durable and visually stunning. The gold powder that runs through the waves, the MSI logo, and the artist’s signature is carefully placed over an adhesive base, making every detail stand out. The unique process ensures that every laptop is a work of art, with no two exactly alike.

Underneath its beautiful exterior, the MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Ukiyo-e Edition is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 288V and runs on Windows 11 Home or Pro (with MSI recommending Pro for business users). It features up to 32GB of LPDDR5x-8533 memory, an Intel Arc 140V GPU, and a 13.3″ 2.8K OLED display with a 16:10 aspect ratio, 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. Storage is handled by a fast NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen4 x4 SSD slot. The laptop includes a gold backlit keyboard with a Copilot key, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, HDMI 2.1 (8K@60Hz / 4K@120Hz) output, and a microSD card reader.
For communications and media, it offers Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 BE1750, Bluetooth 5.4, a 5MP IR webcam with HDR and 3D Noise Reduction+, and Hi-Res Audio Ready 2W stereo speakers. Security features include Microsoft Pluton Technology, dTPM 2.0, fingerprint reader, IR webcam, webcam shutter, and Kensington lock support. Despite all its powerful features, it weighs just 990 grams, measures 299 x 210 x 16.9 mm, and packs a long-lasting 75Whr battery, offering portability without compromise.
The AI-driven features go beyond just processing speed. They help optimize performance, making multitasking smoother and more intuitive, so you can get more done in less time. It’s not just about power; it’s about making your experience as seamless as possible. Whether you’re navigating complex software or simply browsing the web, this laptop adjusts to your needs, offering the best performance for each task.

The MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Ukiyo-e Edition is more than just a high-performance laptop. It’s a device that’s been crafted with care, celebrating both artistry and innovation. The laptop has already won the prestigious COMPUTEX Best Choice Award, which speaks to its outstanding design and capabilities. It stands as a symbol of MSI’s commitment to merging the past with the future — honoring traditional Japanese art while embracing the latest in technology.
This limited-edition laptop is more than just a tool. It’s a statement. The beauty of The Great Wave printed on its surface isn’t just for show — it’s a reminder that technology doesn’t have to be cold or impersonal. Instead, it can be a work of art that tells a story, celebrates a culture, and performs at the highest level.

In a world of mass-produced technology, the MSI Prestige 13 AI+ Ukiyo-e Edition offers something rare: a piece that’s unique, meaningful, and powerful. It’s a laptop that honors the craftsmanship of the past while looking toward the future, where art and technology go hand in hand.
Overall, I was truly blown away by its beauty upon meeting this masterpiece personally at COMPUTEX 2025 here in Taipei, Taiwan. MSI walked me through the incredible craftsmanship behind it. It looks stunning in photos, but in person? It’s even more breathtaking — a true work of art that you can’t help but admire.
