ASUS ROG Crosshair VI Hero (AMD X370)

Motherboard Features

The X370 chipset supports all of AMD’s Ryzen processor line and can be used with Dual Channel DDR4 memory rated up to 3200MHz speed.
*Do take note that on the stock BIOS, I couldn’t get beyond 2933MHz using the included 2x8GB GEIL EVO X RGB 3200mhz memory with the review kit but after flashing the latest BIOS, I could run 3200MHz with no problem.*
The following features also have been integrated into the board:

  • 8 SATA III 6Gbps ports
  • M.2 PCIe Gen3 x4 32Gbps capable port
  • Intel I211-AT Gigabit NIC
  • 3 PCI-Express x16 slots
  • 2 PCI-Express x1 slots
  • ASUS SupremeFX S1220 8-Channel audio subsystem
  • and variety of USB 2.0, 3.0, and 3.1 Type-A and Type-C port.

The ASUS built the Crosshair VI Hero’s audio subsystem around the SupremeFX CODEC, featuring Nichicon audio capacitors, switching MOSFETs, a high-precision clock source, an ESS ESS9023P DAC, and an RC4580 audio buffer and they deliver superior audio performance.

CPU Cooler Compatibility

ASUS also designed the CPU cooler mount for compatibility with both the AM3 and AM4 sockets which gives users a wider selection of coolers that can be used for the motherboard.
